Surfing video games are pretty rare these days. Back in the early 2000s, we had games like Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer, Transworld Surf, and Sunny Garcia Surfing. These games had simple graphics and unrealistic surfing, but surfers loved them.

Now, after 20 years, a new game is coming that will let players ride waves: Grand Theft Auto 6.

Leaked footage shows surfing gameplay, and according to Gamerficial, the rumors about surfing in GTA 6 are true:

“Fans of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series have been eagerly waiting for news about GTA 6. Exciting rumors suggest that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have amazing plans for the next installment.

“One big rumor is the addition of a new feature: surfing.

“GTA 6 is said to have major improvements in water physics, changing how water looks and acts in the game.

“In past GTA games, water was just part of the background, but this time it will play a bigger role.

“Rumors say players will see more realistic waves, better swimming mechanics, and lifelike interactions between objects and water.

“The most exciting leak is the possible inclusion of surfing, a first for the GTA series.

“If true, players will get to surf the waters of the fictional Vice City.”

So, in addition to robbing drug dealers, drag racing, and other wild activities typical of the GTA franchise, players might soon be able to surf as well. That is if the game ever comes out. The release date of GTA 6 is still unknown.
