The anticipation for the second trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI has been driving fans wild for months.
While the much-awaited trailer didn’t materialize, the community found a way to turn disappointment into something truly heartwarming.
On the r/GTA6 subreddit, a user named TrenWillFixIt sparked an unexpected act of kindness with a bold promise.
Last Thursday, they confidently posted:
“I am so confident that we WON’T get news tomorrow that if we do, I will donate 500 pounds to Macmillan Cancer Research UK.”
This statement referred to yet another instance where fans on the subreddit convinced themselves that Rockstar Games would drop the second trailer for GTA 6 on December 27.
As it turned out, no trailer was released, leaving the subreddit collectively disappointed—again. But something wonderful came from this.
A Community’s Kind Gesture
Even though TrenWillFixIt didn’t need to fulfill their pledge, their post inspired other members to step up and donate to Macmillan Cancer Research UK.
Two days later, TrenWillFixIt returned with an update:
“Unfortunately Rockstar didn’t put out any news, but I need to thank everybody who messaged me and said they were going to give to the Macmillan Cancer Group.
Every month I have donated 50 pounds towards the cause, and after my post, multiple people messaged me saying that they were giving anything they could.
I encourage people to give anything they can… Next time there’s another massive theory, you’ll see me here.”
It’s rare to see such a wholesome act emerge from what is often considered one of the most eccentric gaming communities online.
This display of generosity brought a positive note to the holidays for many.
Looking Ahead to the Next Trailer
While fans are still eagerly waiting for GTA 6’s second trailer, this moment of kindness serves as a reminder of the community’s potential to come together for a good cause.
Here’s hoping 2024 finally delivers the trailer everyone’s been waiting for—but until then, this inspiring story will surely be a highlight for the GTA fandom.
Let’s just hope next year doesn’t end without some big news from Rockstar.
But hey, let’s not jinx it!
