Grand Theft Auto 6 has officially set a new record for the longest gap between trailers for a Rockstar Games title.
It’s been more than a year since the first GTA 6 trailer debuted in December 2023, and fans have been eagerly waiting for any sign of the second one.
Surprisingly, the wait has now exceeded the time gaps seen with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The Long Wait Since GTA 6’s First Trailer
The first GTA 6 trailer, released over a year ago, caused a massive stir in the gaming world.
Fans were quick to speculate about the game’s release date and the potential timing of its second trailer.
Based on previous Rockstar titles like GTA 5 and RDR 2, many assumed that Trailer 2 would drop around a year after the first one.
For reference:
- GTA 5’s second trailer came out 378 days after the first.
- Red Dead Redemption 2’s second trailer followed 343 days after its debut.
Now, GTA 6 has surpassed both. As of now, it’s been over 379 days and counting since the first trailer.
This information comes from a Twitter user, GTAVI_Countdown, who has been tracking the time since Trailer 1 was released.
No Updates or Sneak Peeks for GTA 6 Fans
One thing that’s frustrating fans is the lack of updates.
When Rockstar worked on GTA 5 and RDR 2, they released in-game screenshots and teasers while fans waited for the second trailer.
For GTA 6, however, there’s been nothing—no new images, no sneak peeks, and no extra details.
The only major news Rockstar has shared in 2024 is that GTA 6 is expected to release in fall 2025.
This confirmation has reassured some fans, but the silence about Trailer 2 has led others to worry that the game might face delays, possibly pushing it to 2026.
Will We See GTA 6’s Trailer 2 Before 2025?
With only a few weeks left in 2024, it’s becoming less likely that Trailer 2 will drop before the year ends.
While some are concerned about potential delays, Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two have consistently stated that the game remains on track for its fall 2025 release window.
That said, developing ambitious AAA games like GTA 6 often comes with challenges.
Fans are hoping Rockstar will break its silence soon and share more details, clearing up the speculation and giving everyone something to look forward to.
