Rockstar Games’ publisher confirms that GTA 6 is still on track for its release, but some fans are skeptical.
Since GTA 6 is expected to be one of the biggest games of the decade, it’s understandable that people are anxious about whether it will be delayed.
Reports from Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, suggest that the game will launch on Xbox and PlayStation platforms in Autumn 2025.
However, the PC version may come later, as seen with the release of GTA 5, but the exact delay remains unknown.
Although there are rumors that development is behind schedule, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Fans haven’t seen any official gameplay footage, just some in-engine cutscenes. Some believe that the game could still be delayed, possibly even into 2026, but there’s no solid evidence for that at this time.
Former Rockstar developers have commented that it’s too early to say whether the game’s release will face any significant delays.
However, Take-Two seems committed to launching the game by the end of 2025, and that timeline still seems likely.
As Rockstar’s biggest franchise, GTA has been a massive success, especially with the previous entry, GTA 5, which made an incredible amount of money from both initial sales and GTA Online microtransactions.
Take-Two likely has a clear understanding of the time needed to complete GTA 6 and has chosen a late 2025 release to ensure the game is polished and ready.
While delays can happen unexpectedly, like with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there doesn’t seem to be any major reason to worry about GTA 6 being pushed back at this point.
