“I’m sorry, but I’m not feeling very well…”
These could be the words heard around the world when GTA VI launches.
Rockstar Games’ next GTA title is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, and millions of fans are eagerly waiting for its release.
GTA VI fans were already excited even before the first trailer came out. But when Rockstar made a surprise announcement, their excitement went through the roof.
It’s no wonder that many gamers are planning to take time off to play.
A recent survey by GTA Boom, a GTA fan site, used Google Keyword Planner to find out which US states are the most excited about the game’s launch.
According to Tweak Town, the survey found that many people are planning to take a day or even a week off to play.
Florida is the state most excited about GTA VI, with searches for the game 31% higher than the national US average.
Since the new game is set in Florida, it’s easy to see why they’re so excited.
Nevada came in second with a 26% higher than average search rate, followed by New York at 24%.
Even though Florida is leading, the stats show a clear pattern of huge hype.
Matt Gibbs, the director of GTA Boom, said, “We’re all incredibly excited about the long-awaited release of GTA VI, especially since it’s been over a decade since the last Grand Theft Auto game.”
He added, “This research shows where the anticipation is highest. Given the history of people taking sick days during major game releases, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a wave of ‘GTA flu’ when the game launches.”
As someone who’s been following GTA VI news for months, what Gibbs says makes sense.
With new teasers coming before the official second trailer, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about GTA VI.
Just wait until that second trailer drops – you won’t have seen anything like it.
