Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are buzzing with excitement.
They believe Rockstar Games may have subtly hinted at the upcoming release in a new promotional image for the next Grand Theft Auto Online update, set for December 10.
The last major update on GTA 6 was the first trailer released in December 2023.
With a whole year gone by, fans are eagerly waiting for new updates on what is expected to be 2025’s most anticipated game.
There have been rumors that GTA 6 might be delayed to 2026.
However, Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, insists the game is still planned for a Fall 2025 release.
But since it’s been a year without any new trailers, fans are getting impatient and worried about a possible delay.
Despite this, some keen-eyed GTA players think Rockstar might have just teased the next game in a new promo image.
Did Rockstar Just Hint at GTA 6?
On December 3, Rockstar Games announced the next big GTA Online update for December 10.
Fans quickly analyzed the promotional image for clues about GTA 6. Twitter user TGG noticed the image references Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which is rumored to be the setting for the next game.
The image shows a GTA Online character holding a collectible item called “The Hidden Package” from the 2002 Vice City game, leading some to believe this is a teaser for GTA 6.
However, not everyone is convinced. There have been many debunked GTA 6 theories recently.
While some agree with TGG, thinking this is a teaser because the next game’s location is Leonida, a fictional state featuring Vice City’s neon-lit streets, others think it’s just a nod to the older game.
This isn’t the first time fans thought Rockstar teased GTA 6. A popular, but false, theory involved the moon phases in GTA Online images, which fans believed hinted at the next trailer’s release date.
Despite Rockstar likely taking its time to create the best GTA experience, the year-long silence has fans analyzing every detail and coming up with new theories almost every week.
