One creative Grand Theft Auto fan has taken it upon themselves to strip all signs of life from GTA 6, showing us a version of the game’s world completely devoid of civilians.
If you’ve ever wondered what the bustling streets of Vice City might look like without its usual crowd of NPCs, a talented fan has provided the answer.
A Glimpse of Empty Vice City
Reddit user WeeboGazebo recently shared a series of nineteen edited images that reveal a hauntingly empty version of Vice City.
The images showcase the city in all its glory, but without the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The sight of a deserted Vice City Beach is especially unnerving, given the dense population of NPCs seen in the first trailer.
The only sign of life is a small dog lingering in the center of the beach, offering a bit of comfort in an otherwise lifeless scene.
According to WeeboGazebo, removing all traces of human life took over a week of painstaking work in Photoshop.
Though most NPCs were successfully edited out, a couple of them can still be seen inside a car in the fourth image—while the woman who was previously riding on the roof has completely disappeared.
Fan Reactions and Speculation
Fans in the comments section have been joking about how this might be what the Xbox Series S version of GTA 6 could look like, with fewer civilians rendered to save on resources.
While we don’t know exactly how the Series S port will be downgraded, it’s likely that population density and resolution will be among the features affected.
Others have speculated that this empty version of Vice City could represent what the game might look like on older consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, which might explain why GTA 6 is only being released on current-gen hardware.
What’s Next for WeeboGazebo?
But the project doesn’t end there. WeeboGazebo has hinted that they’re working on another series of images titled “What if GTA 6 was set in 2077,” a Cyberpunk-inspired take on Vice City that fans are eagerly anticipating.
One thing is clear – the GTA community is growing restless with the limited glimpses of GTA 6. Many are hoping for Trailer 2 to drop soon, although rumors suggest it might not arrive until December this year.
